The invention of the safety pen dates back to the late 19th to early 20th century, around 1900. At that time, dip pens had just developed into models that could carry ink, so they often leaked or sprayed ink, which was very troublesome for users. To solve this problem, Morris W. Moore invented the safety pen. The main feature of this pen is its ability to retract the nib into the barrel while preventing ink from leaking out, hence the name. Even when originally sold, the pen was sold with the ink prefilled at the factory to prove the pen's excellent sealing properties.
After the American Pen Company obtained a patent from the inventor, it began manufacturing it in the Boston area, so this pen was also called the Boston Safety Pen.
In addition to being able to write immediately after filling with ink and having excellent air tightness, the Boston safety pen is also relatively easy to disassemble and disassemble. Take the most recent model as an example, the pen only has nine parts and can be easily disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled. Go back ~ Compared to many people, it can be used with more confidence.
