About Matthew Chen

Matthew Chen specializes in fountain pen nib grinding and customization, dedicated to creating the perfect feel for each pen for the writer.

During his studies, he lived in Japan and visited many top masters to verify and deepen his skills: he was guided by teacher Yoshimune of Pen and Message and pilot master teacher Tsuchida, and was personally taught by Mr. Nagahara Jr. on the Naginata Togi technique.

After returning to the United States, he built his own cutting-edge research equipment and continued to improve it, with the support and guidance of renowned researcher Michael Masuyama.

Customization is his passion. Every grinding process is centered on the pen and the writer, pursuing the writing experience that best suits individual needs.

Services and Fees

The actual cost of adjustment and repair will be determined by the pen nib condition and the services provided, and will be communicated to the nib specialist on-site after confirmation.

Appointment and payment process

1. Select time period　Select the date and time slot you wish to book below.
2. Pay deposit　A deposit of NT$500 is required for each time slot; booking is confirmed upon completion of checkout.
3. Arrive on time　We recommend arriving at the store 10 minutes before the time indicated in your order confirmation email.
4. Settlement on site　After confirming the services, the deposit will be deducted on-site to pay the balance.

For example, if you need to grind 3 pieces, please book 2 time slots (deposit NT$500 for each).

Cancellation policy

• To cancel, please do so on Before April 4The letter informed me that the deposit will be fully refunded.
• Cancellations will not be accepted after April 5th.Deposits are non-refundable

Important Note

• Grinding is an irreversible operation.Once completed, the original state cannot be restored; only minor adjustments can be made. Please fully confirm your needs with the specialist before the procedure. You may also bring a sample pen for the specialist to reference regarding your preferred writing feel.
• Customized services will be carried out as scheduled as possible; however, the actual implementation time may be earlier or later. Please be aware of this. The times listed above are for reference only; the actual implementation time may be earlier or later, so please allow for flexibility.
