Special grinding services

Nagahara Special Grind - NT$2,450
  • Kodachi:Special grinding technique passed down by Master Yukio Nagahara. This grind is derived from the tradition of pre-war Japanese fountain pens and can imitate the writing effect of a brush - delicate vertical lines, heavy horizontal strokes, and extremely fine lines when written at a high angle.
  • Uranagi:A grind similar to a kodachi, but with the nib reversed. When writing on the front, it produces extremely fine lines (similar to the tip of a needle), and when writing on the reverse, it has an effect similar to a small sword, but the ink flow is smaller, allowing for finer strokes.
  • Calligraphy Nib:Developed by Master Nagahara, the nib itself is transformed into a writing surface, which can produce horizontal strokes of varying thickness like a brush. Recommended only forsteel tip.
  • Beak Nib:The pen tip is designed to be bent in reverse, the front side can be used for normal writing, and the back side can produce thickness changes like a calligraphy tip.
  • The above nib is shown in the picture
Special grinding - NT$2,100
  • Japanese Fine/JF:Very fine writing lines, especially suitable for writing small characters
  • Ultra Extra Fine (UEF):Thinner lines than Japanese fine nibs, suitable for extremely fine writing needs
  • Needlepoint:The finest nib option for writing hair-thin lines
Standard grinding - NT$1,750
  • Sizing down:The original nib is changed to a thinner size, suitable for users who like fine writing
  • Stubs:Suitable for Western calligraphy, can produce lines of varying thickness
  • Italian Tip (Italics):Strong elasticity, with unique feedback when writing
  • Cursive Italic:Especially suitable for English calligraphy, it can show the thickness changes of calligraphy strokes

Fine-tuning the pen tip

Basic services
  • Basic adjustment/smoothing- NT$1,200:Suitable for situations where the pen tip slightly scratches the paper and is not smooth. It will readjust the pen tip alignment and ink flow to make writing smoother.
  • Bent tip repair - NT$1,400-1,750:Deal with the problem of pen tip deformation caused by falling or improper use. Pricing depends on the extent of damage. (Pay 1750 first, if it exceeds the amount, refund will be made after repair)
